From April to December

So .. here I sit.... wondering again...WHY ... cant I keep up with this blogging thing... hehehehe.... well let just see what has been happening in the World According to LaBrett.

May.... seem so far away ago..... it was graduation of my oldest nephew Wyatt. Sports banquets. my step daughters bday, and keeping up with my 5K's. The Prmio Girls did the Fireman's 5K. JR/SR Prom for Trinity 

June... Started my training for Hotter n Hell 100. and let me tell you.... I had NOT a clue what I was about to get into when I started THAT training.  Another 5K run, with my best friend. hubby bday, and wedding planning for my oldest son James wedding date is October 20th.  

July... Wedding planning is in full swing now, getting near and far address. Bridal pictures are being done. Oh yes... and the ever HHH 100 training... that I am quickly finding out that is taking up much of any extra time that I really don't have. and ALL of my Saturdays. LOL. Primo Girls did the Summer Sizzler 5K 

August... Wedding planning still going strong. After many set-back in Primos Girls HHH training, we finally did it. On Aug 25th Primo Girls set out on our journey. We started the race at 730am and crossed the finish line together at 430pm. It was the hard thing I have done so far. Sweat, Tears, Rest, Laughter, and "You CAN DO THIS" we cross that finish line. I did 75 miles of the 100 miles, I am very proud of myself that was 25 more mile than I trained for. I know one day I will do ALL 100 miles. :) (side note..... did you know that you will burn though 4,000 plus calories in one day riding that long.) 

September... School is now in full swing for my 2 youngest daughters. One a Senior and one a Junior. The Primo Girls plus one extra ... did the Vineyard Run. Wedding is now only a month away. OH MY we are very busy in our house, and I am only the mother of the groom.

October.... Wedding month is here. WHOOO HOOOO!!! So much to do... so little time. Bridal showers, getting my dress, making sure the rehearsal dinner is all set, decoration for the rehearsal dinner bought and made. OH least not forget... started the Insanity workout... sheesh. Primo Girls did the Double Trouble 5K.
OCTOBER 20 my first born became a husband. Cried alot. They Honeymooned in Florida and took a very short Cruise to the Bahamas during Hurricane Sandy, something that they can tell there kids about some day.  Gene did Bras for a Cause. That was awesome.


November ... Wedding is now passed us. On to Thanksgiving. Continued to do Insanity... I think I am insane for trying this... LOL. see results... cant complain there. Did the Turkey Trot 5K with my daughters, daughter in love, and my daughter boyfriend  so much fun.(side note.... missed my Primo Girl on this run, she was having much need leg surgery) Got very sick this month... had to cut back on workouts. I lost my dog COCO of 12 year this month. Thanksgiving with family and friends.



Decemeber ... Christmas time..... enough said on how busy this time of month is.... I must confess... I really slacked on my workout... and boy can I tell. I did get my last run in for the month. I did the Hero Flightline Run 5K. This I did with my hubby. :) (side note ... my Primo Girl was still out with the leg surgery... it had to be done over a 2 month period... but she will be back in 2013 better that ever... our first run of 2013 Electric Run...WHOOO HOOOOO )Christmas Cookie Party

AND that folks finishes out the year 2012..... Now on to 2013.... cant wait to see what happens. Never a dull moment in the World According to LaBrett .... see ya on the flip side.

Ok .... Sorry for the laps in blogging.

I have been dealing with teeth issues for the last 6week,  along with a ear infection, and last week it just got too much. Now with 2 of my issues gone and the other being taken care of next week I am back on track.

I am still going to be doing my journey to becoming fabulous and flaunting it.
In the 1st chapter it as for you to do homework.
you are like oh great... homework really really really. I say yes really.

At the end of chapter 1 you need to think of  seven word that best describe you. They MUST be positive!!!! If you are having trouble with this ...ask your family and friends to help. Once again remind them they MUST be positive. We all have no problem with the negative words... I can come up with a list in a minute that is a mile long.
These seven words are going to be your "key words". The words that define who you are and what you are wanting to become.

So get your thinking cap on and take a good look at your best qualities and put the down on paper and tape them to you mirror in the bath room so that you can see them and confess them to your self EVERYDAY.
I know this will be hard... but well worth it!!

Frumpy to Fabulous my Journey!!!

I just started reading this new book self- help book ...  Frumpy to Fabulous  Flaunting It by Natalie Jobity.
I saw and thought .... heck ya...I want to be able to flaunt my fabulous!!!

Sometime life you just hit that wall of blah. It is those personal demons that we all secretly deal with. We have all dealt with at one point in our life, there is nothing to be ashamed of.
Well time to be real. I am there. I am 44 and will be 45. I find my self waning a bit... in my confidence, who I want to be and how I want to be seen.

When the demon rears it ugly head how do I fight passed it? and defeat it. Right now it seems to win more that I do.... NOT ACCEPTABLE ANY MORE!!!
Some of the questions that I am asking my self is.... is what impression am I making on people.
What is my image that I am putting out there, does it line up with my goals. In other words; am I thinking one thing and doing another. I want my thinking a doing to be the same!!!


So my question to me is what makes me feel fabulous?????
Is the way I look in something?
Is it the way that I feeling doing something?
It it an attitude?
It is a state of mind?
It is the people I am around?
What is it??? 
What does fabulous look like? 

I guess it is time to go on a journey of sorts and find my fabulous get it back and then flaunt it.

Run or Walk ... Finish!!!!!!!!!!! 2011 Year in motion

Well alot has happened since August 23.

Lets see what has been going on in the World According to LaBrett.. the in motion side of me.:)
The last time that I wrote to you ... I was training for my 1st Half Marathon.

I DID IT!!!!!

3hr 34min!!! Whooop Whooop 
As you see I did it. I was very happy with my time. Marcy did the half with me. She was my trainer and pacer and all around cheerleader.
After that I didn't do any running for a good 2weeks. LOL. When the 2week break was over I was right back in the saddle. I was helping Marcy with a new PR that she wanted to set for her Half. Now I am not as fast as Marcy... but I was able to ride my roadbike and keep her on pace... and guess what she finished even better that she thought that she would ... White Rock Half in 2hr 10min.

 That brings an  end of the year 2011 in running. I have new goals this year, some of them are carry over from last year.

still training away!! and other things :)


I am still training away for the 1/2 on Sept 25th ...

It has not been easy..
this was a 7:30 in the evening 

1. The heat is a beating!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to train in...... 104 and that is at 730 in the evening... that people is the norm this summer for my training!!!!!!!!!


2. NEVER forget your water or start too late on hot days....on my 7miles weekend 8/6  I forgot it and started later that I should have ..(830am). It scared me bad, I was so hot,  muscle started cramping, and exhaustion was setting in.   I will NEVER do that again.

3. I am now in the long miles. last Saturday 8/20 was 8miles. every weekend bring a 1mile increase each weekend... this weekend is 9 miles.

This is my training for this week

8/22 rest day
8/23 4miles moderate
8/24 rest day
8/25 ride bike 9 miles
8/26 4miles moderate
8/27 3miles easy
8/28 9miles endurance

I did manage to get a 5K in this month... Book It for Literacy 5K.

1/2 training still going on and on and on

Yes i have been crazy!!! I am still training for the 1/2 in this heat. I told my BF that i would never just wear a sports bra with shorts to workout in.... I LIED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! when you start workout time @730pm and it is still in the 100's I will wear as less clothes as possible with out being arrested for indecent exposure. I now have a neon yellow, hot pink, tye dye blk/wht, and gray sport bra to beat the heat in!!!  
I got me some new runner... so pretty... but had to break them in....Brook Adrenaline GTS11... so far love them!!!  


The last few weeks had been somewhat hard for me to get my training in... i did it.. but not very good. the week of the 7/17-7/23 I only got one 3miler workout in. that was a BAD week!!!
The week on 7/24-7/31 I was able to get 3- 3milers in. still was trying to get back on track
Now i am back on track!!!!


This weeks is the workout 
8/1 rest day-yoga
8/2 3miles(45min)
8/3 rest day-yoga
8/4 cross training 
8/5 2miles(30min)-yoga
8/6 5miles(1hr15min)
8/7 3miles(45 min)-yoga


Next week look to bring another mileage increase... BRING IT BABY!!!!!!!!!!

july rocks!!!

July is one of my most favorite months ever!!!
Let me list why!
4 of July... bbq and fireworks family and friends!!!


The family vacation.... whooo hoooo.... Port Aransas and San Antonio!!!!












I love this vacation spot. I cant think of any other place that I want to spend my time.
We spent 4 wonderful relaxing days getting sunburn, eating lots of seafood, playing in the water, feeding seagulls, and souvenir shopping. Then headed off to San Antonio to see the sites and sounds...plus spend some time with Gene's mom and PopPop.

It was also my 25th yr class reunion. Love that group. Great to catch up with old friends.

And let not forget my birthday 7/31....hehehe... 44yrs young this year.
